Pictured preparing some pieces for the HIQA art competition are some residents working with our weekly visiting artist Catherine Gannon.

The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) is holding an art competition for residents living in nursing homes and residential services for people with disabilities. Hearing the views and opinions of residents on the support and care that they receive is at the centre of the work in HIQA. They are asking residents living in nursing homes and residential disability services to design a poster based on the theme ‘What Care and Support Means to Me’. The winning artwork will be used as the front cover of the Overview Reports later this year. The competition winner and runner up will also receive a prize.
