One of the annual highlights for many in the Irish social calendar is the Galway races. Whilst many residents cannot make the trip they mostly enjoy watching all the fun of the races, the glamour, and the excitement. Thursday of race week is Ladies Day and the residents make a special effort to get into the mood by putting on some headgear and having a little tipple.
