On Monday, 27th September the (mock) wedding of two residents Kathy and Patrick took place. The groom was supported by his two best men Johnny and John and the bride had her two beautiful bridesmaids Rachel and Kelly Ann. The wedding party looked spectacular and all the guests made a special effort on the day. The wedding service was presided over by our priest for an hour Matthews who made sure all was in order. Following the service the residents enjoyed a spectacular wedding lunch which included a wedding speech with some bad jokes, cutting of the cake, wedding favours, wedding balloons and plenty of wine to toast the happy couple. Music and dancing followed with Nuala. All in all a wonderful mock wedding and in one of the residents words ‘the best wedding she was at in a long time’.
Huge thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the day so wonderful with special mention to Monica for hair and makeup, the activities team who organised the event – Emmanuel, Marie and Nadia, the catering team for the wonderful wedding lunch, Nuala for her music, Mathews for playing the role of priest and the two gate crashing nuns. Thanks to all the staff from every department who got into the spirit of the day dressing up and ensuring the residents looked their absolute best. Thanks also to the families who brought in wedding outfits for residents.
